“ States Parties recognize the importance of international cooperation and its promotion, in support of national efforts for the realization of the purpose and objectives of the present Convention, and will undertake appropriate and effective measures in this regard, between and among States and, as appropriate, in partnership with relevant international and regional organizations and civil society, in particular organizations of persons with disabilities. “

The link between global cooperation and disability
The call for global cooperation hint at a more official development cooperation, at measures to regulate and control the debts of the South on a long-tem basis and at a regulatory and non-discriminatory multilateral system for trade and finances. To ensure an enduring progress in the alleviation of poverty, donor countries should fit their development policies and programs into the theoretical framework of the UN Convention and consider disability as a core theme in their development cooperation. People with disabilities are represented by disability organizations. They are the experts when it comes to the needs and interests of this particular target group. Disability organizations in the South need the support, knowledge and experience of their counterparts in the North.
